Press Release

WASHINTON, DC — Congressman Ron Wright was named to serve on the Committee on Education & Labor and the Committee on Foreign Affairs for the 116th Congress.

“Building relationships around the world in the interest of American prosperity and strengthening ties with our allies will be my primary responsibility as a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs. I requested this committee because of my personal passion on human rights and religious freedom.” Wright said, “I look forward to meeting these responsibilities and addressing important issues like trade, foreign aid and national security with my fellow committee members.”

On his appointment to the Committee on Education and Labor, Wright said, “Our country must maintain a strong focus on providing a world class education to the next generation of Americans and strengthening educational standards and opportunities for all. In today’s global economy, a strong education is necessary to compete and find employment.” He continued, “Labor issues ranging from employment to health care to retirement are essential components of everyday life for millions of Americans. Providing a resource for my constituents and finding solutions to better serve them on these everyday issues will be my priority.”
